About This Community
The federal electorate of Leichhardt has an approximate area of 148,000 km².
It is comprised of 55 suburbs including Badu Island, Bamaga, Bamboo, Barron, Barron Gorge, Bayview Heights, Bentley Park, Boigu Island, Brinsmead, Bungalow, Caravonica, Cassowary, Daintree, Dauan Island, Degarra, Earlville, Edge Hill, Erub Island, Evans Landing, Finlayvale, Forest Creek, Freshwater, Kamerunga, Kanimbla and Keriri Island plus parts of another 48 suburbs.
It is comprised of the localities of Archer River, Aurukun, Bloomfield, Cooktown, Dagmar, Dedin, Dixie, Edward River, Groganville, Holroyd River, Kowanyama, Lakeland, Laura, Mapoon, Mission River, Moa Island, Mount Mulgrave, Palmer, Pormpuraaw and Wenlock plus parts of 27 localities including Cape Tribulation, Coen, Desailly, Gamboola and Highbury.
It is comprised of the councils of Aurukun, Hope Vale, Kowanyama, Lockhart River, Mapoon, Napranum, Northern Peninsula Area, Pormpuraaw, Torres Strait Island and Wujal Wujal plus parts of Carpentaria, Cook, Douglas, Mareeba and Weipa.
It is within the state electorate of Cook.
It is adjacent to the federal electorate of Kennedy.
