About Us

Mount Isa Sexual Health (MISH) delivers safe, accessible, and culturally appropriate health care focusing on sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing of men and women. MISH offers a free and confidential service with friendly male and female staff. The MISH service concentrates on access to screening, treatment and resources throughout the North West Queensland district.

MISH provide:

  • Contraception clinic
  • Management of sexually transmissible infections
  • Testing and treatment of sexually transmissible infections, HIV, and hepatitis
  • Sexual dysfunction
  • Genital dermatological conditions
  • Needle and Syringe Program (NSP)
  • NPEP (non-occupational post-exposure prophylaxis for potential exposure to HIV)
  • Community based screening programs for STIs, HIV, syphilis, viral hepatitis
  • Transgender care
  • Contact tracing
  • Counselling for all sexual health concerns
  • Education for health professionals
  • Community engagement, health prevention and promotion activities
  • Condoms/lubrication
