It is comprised of the suburbs of Ascot Vale, Essendon Fields, Essendon North, Moonee Ponds, Strathmore and Travancore plus parts of Essendon, Flemington and Strathmore Heights.
It is within the council of Moonee Valley City.
It is surrounded by the state electorates of Brunswick, Footscray, Melbourne, Niddrie, Pascoe Vale and Sunbury.
It is comprised of parts of the federal electorates of Maribyrnong, Melbourne and Wills.
